Ed Hersh is the senior vice president of strategic planning for Investigation Discovery, part of the Discovery Emerging Networks group. In this position, Hersh is responsible for developing ID's long-term content, production, acquisition, and brand strategy. Prior to joining Discovery Communications, Hersh was founder and chief creative officer of StoryCentric LLC, a New York‐based company that provided strategy and solutions to both media networks and content creators, including WNET in New York where he developed “Blueprint America,” a year-long PBS initiative on the nation’s crumbling infrastructure. He spent seven years at Court TV (now truTV), most recently as Executive Vice‐President, Current Programming and Specials, where he was the executive in charge of the network’s primetime original non‐fiction series and specials. He is a graduate of Syracuse University and the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism, and has served on the adjunct faculty of both institutions. He also is an advisor to ETMA, the European Television and Media Management Academy in Strasbourg, France.
