Executive Director of the archive Trade Association ACSIL since 2003, Jill Hawkins has been an industry expert in the stock footage field for many years. She pioneered and headed up BBC Library Sales (now BBC Motion Gallery) taking it from a small UK based sales operation to become an international leader in stock footage.
After joining the BBC Film Library she moved to Library Sales a division of BBC Enterprises, now Worldwide, and then Head of Business Development helping to establish a nascent BBC Films. Later she headed up Marketing and Rights and Clearances for programming organizing the departments to maximize the long term catalog value of the BBC’s archives and developing investment led marketing strategies for new programming. She became Head of Business Affairs and then Television Sales Director, responsible for the worldwide portfolio of BBC’s commercial programming in the international market before being deployed to the US where she now lives.
